Dance floors lit with pulsating lights are always filled with revelers.  The clubs in Istanbul is also a great opportunity to rub elbows with the rich and famous Istanbulites.  The local celebrities – millionaires, actors and models gather to party, party, party!  Brave the velvet ropes and try to get into the hot and happening nightclubs in the city.    Take note, however, that there are some clubs that do not allow men who go out by their lonesome into their clubs.    The club and party scene in the city is varied, from plush clubs, waterfront locations to open air party places.  Istanbul has something to offer for the inveterate party animal in you.

Expect a cover charge upon entry.

Here is a short list of the hottest night clubs this side of town:

Cezayir (Hayriye Cad. 12) This used to be a schoolhouse, during the early part of the 20th century.  Now, students devoted to music and dance flock this bar that also serves sumptuous food with a distinct Turkish flavor.  The ambience (a garden filled with trees) contributes to its charm and attraction.

Besinci-KatBesinci Kat (Soganci Sok. 7, 5th Floor, Cihangir) This doubles up as a restaurant and a nightclub.  A wide-ranging choice of music provides you with the rhythms that you need for your dancing.
Nardis Jazz Club (Kuledibi Sok. 14, Galata) Be sure to make your reservations, as this place is always full.  Although small, its main attractions are the live performances that range from pop music, to jazz to modern, and then back to classical.
Q Jazz (Muallim Naci Cad. 68, Kurucesme) Come to the garden terrace of the Ciragan Palace hotel and you will see a chic club that is always filled with customers who come not just for the great food but for the relaxing atmosphere and music.
Anjelique (Muallim Naci Caddesi, Salhane Sokak 10, Muallim Naci Cad, Ortakőy)  Three floors in a waterfront location make this a favorite among locals and tourists alike.
ulus29Ulus 29 (Kirechane Sok 1, Adnan Saygun Cad., Ulus) Sitting at the top of the hill, you are rewarded with wow-inspiring views of the Bosphorus and the city.  The design is trendy and hip.  The chefs are known for their innovative spirit.
Reina (Muallim Naci Cad. 44, Ortakoy) The queen reigns supreme!  Reina is actually a combination of several restaurants, bars and dance floors.  The whole complex can house more than 2,000 revelers.  There are regular celebrity sightings here.  Wear your best club attire. This is one of Ortakoy’s favorite party places.

Samdan (Nispetiye Cad No. 30 Etiler)  This club enjoyed continuous popularity for the past 3 decades, and this popularity has no sign of waning.

Babylon (Şehbender Sokak 3, off Asmalimescit, Beyoglu) You cannot help but be swept away with the music. DJs fill the party house with lively music.  If you’re lucky, you might even get to watch a live concert.  To do away with long lines, get your tickets ahead of time.

Mori & Mojito (Muallim Naci Cad., Salhane Cad. No. 1, Ortakoy) Japanese food and Japanese party atmosphere.  What more can you ask for?

Club Crystal (Muallim Naci Caddesi No. 65, Ortakoy) One of the clubs that are all the rage in Istanbul.  The club comes to life at around 2:00 a.m., fancy clothes are the norm.

Sortie (Muallim Naci Cad. No. 141 – 142, Kurucesme) One of the hot and happening party venues in the city. Be prepared to pay for a steep cover charge.

Parkorman (Buyukdere Caddesi, Maslak) Live bands regularly play at this open-air venue.
