Since Istanbul is such a historic city, one tends to forget that Istanbul is also a progressive city, with a huge number of buildings showcasing modern architecture. These include Art Nouveau and Neoclassical buildings that were constructed during the early 19th century, as well as 20th century creations such as the Khedive Palace, the Frej Apartment , the Flora Han and the many mansions located in the city and on Princes’ Islands. - Airports: Istanbul is blessed with state of the art airports – Istanbul Ataturk International Airport and Istanbul Sabiha Gokcen International Airport. Ataturk Airport handles about 22 million passengers a year; it is a stylish and modern facility.
